History:

Established in 2011, JN Long Cultural Arts Center (legal name: Cleburne Friends of the Cultural Arts) has been a vital force in nurturing and promoting the arts in our community. With over 30 classes, organizations, and a growing network of 150 artist members, JN Long serves as a dynamic venue for meetings and events, providing invaluable support and resources to local artists.

At the heart of JN Long’s endeavors is the historic J.N. Long Elementary campus, a cherished landmark in our city. Erected in 1915 following the destruction of the original school in 1884, this architectural gem faced the threat of neglect and potential demolition. However, JN Long stepped in, recognizing its historical and cultural significance, and repurposed the campus as the JN Long Cultural Arts Center, ensuring its preservation for future generations.

Within the JN Long Cultural Arts Center, JN Long houses various organizations, including the esteemed Johnson County Art Guild and Cleburne Camera Club, which serve as anchor organizations. Together, JN Long’s member organizations boast a combined membership of over 400 individuals, representing a diverse range of artistic disciplines.
